Florian Bieber presented a paper on “The EU Failure of State-Building? Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina“ at the ASN convention, Columbia University, New York, 10-12 April 2008.
Gülnur Aybet, Florian Bieber and Neven Anđelić presented a panel on the project entitled: “EU and NATO conditionality in state building in Bosnia“ to the East European Studies Program, Woodrow Wilson Center, Washington DC, on the 9th of April 2008.
Gülnur Aybet presented a paper based on her research work on the project entitled: “Assessing Institutional Legitimacy in State Building: NATO Conditionality in the Balkans.” At the International Studies Association (ISA) conference in San Francisco 26-29 March 2008, Panel SB43 ‘Post-Conflict Stabilisation and State Building’.
Gülnur Aybet presented a co authored paper with Florian Bieber, entitled: “Building a Conditional State: EU and NATO Conditionality as a Tool of External State Building” at a special Woodrow Wilson Center seminar entitled Greece the Western Balkans and the European Union in Thessaloniki, Greece on the 1st of December 2007. The paper was based on the findings of the workshop held at Chatham House the day before, in London.
Gülnur Aybet and Florian Bieber presented a paper entitled: “EU and NATO State Building in the Balkans: Synergies and Failures” as part of the SEESOX (South East European Studies at Oxford) seminar series, at St Antony’s College, Oxford, on the 14th of January.
Florian Bieber presented a paper at the Balkan Task Force Meeting “Is the EU losing the Western Balkans?” at the EU Institute for Security Studies, Paris, on the 17th of March 2008.
